Google prices Maps by SKU tier, then by field. Here is what that adds up to in 2026, and what one business costs when you pay per business instead.

One business done properly is two or three billed calls across two SKU tiers, and the phone number is a higher tier again. You learn the total when the invoice lands.
One credit buys one business with the fields already attached. Phone, website, rating, reviews, hours, coordinates. No tiers.
Google Maps Platform splits into dozens of SKUs (Text Search, Place Details, Geocoding, Dynamic Maps, and so on), and every SKU sits in one of three tiers: Essentials, Pro, or Enterprise. You pay per request, priced per 1,000.
The old $200 monthly credit was retired in March 2025. In its place, each SKU now carries its own free monthly call count: 10,000 calls for Essentials SKUs, 5,000 for Pro, and 1,000 for Enterprise.
Embedded maps and the mobile map SDKs stay free with no cap. That is a good deal if all you need is a map on a page.
For Places requests, the fields you ask for decide the tier. Request ratings, phone numbers, websites, or opening hours and the call bills at the Enterprise rate.
Rates also step down on volume: above 100,000 calls a month prices drop roughly 20%, and they fall further past 1 million.
The SKUs most people mean when they search for Google Maps API pricing, at the base rate before volume discounts:
| SKU | Tier | Price per 1,000 calls | Free calls / month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Text Search | Pro | $32.00 | 5,000 |
| Text Search | Enterprise | $35.00 | 1,000 |
| Nearby Search | Pro | $32.00 | 5,000 |
| Nearby Search | Enterprise | $35.00 | 1,000 |
| Place Details | Essentials | $5.00 | 10,000 |
| Place Details | Pro | $17.00 | 5,000 |
| Place Details | Enterprise | $20.00 | 1,000 |
| Geocoding | Essentials | $5.00 | 10,000 |
| Dynamic Maps | Essentials | $7.00 | 10,000 |
Figures from Google Maps Platform pricing, checked August 4, 2026. Volume rates step down as usage grows: Text Search Enterprise drops to $28.00 per 1,000 above 100,000 calls a month, $21.00 above 500,000, $10.50 above 1 million, and $2.63 past 5 million.
Per-1,000 rates hide the number you actually budget with. Divide by 1,000 and each call looks like this:
| SKU (tier) | One request costs | What it returns |
|---|---|---|
| Text Search (Enterprise) | $0.035 | Up to 20 places per page, full fields |
| Text Search (Pro) | $0.032 | Up to 20 places per page, without contact fields |
| Nearby Search (Pro) | $0.032 | Up to 20 places near a point |
| Place Details (Enterprise) | $0.020 | 1 place, contact and hours fields included |
| Place Details (Pro) | $0.017 | 1 place |
| Place Details (Essentials) | $0.005 | 1 place, basic fields |
| Geocoding | $0.005 | Coordinates for 1 address |
| Dynamic Maps | $0.007 | 1 map load |
Read per business, the best case is strong: a Text Search Enterprise page that comes back full is 3.5 cents for 20 places, or 0.175 cents per business.
But each Place Details top-up adds 2 cents per place, thin pages bill the same 3.5 cents for 3 results as for 20, and empty pages bill too.
CrustAPI's flat rate for a complete record is 0.196 cents per business at the entry pack, falling to 0.08 cents on the 2.5M pack, with empties free.
The formula is the same for every SKU: (monthly calls minus that SKU's free calls) x rate per 1,000. Free calls apply per SKU, not per account, and unused free calls do not roll over.
Take an app that runs 30,000 Text Searches with contact fields (Enterprise), tops up 20,000 places with Place Details (Enterprise), and geocodes 50,000 addresses a month:
All three lines sit under 100,000 calls, so base rates apply; past 100,000 a month the volume discounts start.
For the data half of that job, CrustAPI's meter reads per business returned instead of per call: 100,000 complete business records cost $149, however many searches they took. Searches that return nothing cost nothing.
1. Fields pick your rate. A Places request that asks for phone, website, hours, or ratings bills at the Enterprise tier. For business data work, those are exactly the fields you want, so plan on the $35 rate for Text Search.
2. You pay per request, whatever comes back. A text search that returns 2 places bills the same 3.5 cents as one that returns 20. A search that returns nothing bills too.
3. Results cap at 60 per query. Each Text Search request returns up to 20 places, and one query tops out at 60 across 3 billed pages. Covering a whole city means fanning out many overlapping queries, and the overlap bills full price for duplicates.
4. You can't keep most of the data. Google's Maps service terms (§14.3) restrict caching or storing Places content beyond place IDs, and lat/lng can only be cached for 30 days. For a lead list, that rule matters more than the rates do.
When the official API is the right buy: you're building live location features inside an app (map views, autocomplete, place lookups), you want Google's SLA and support contracts, or your legal team requires a Google-billed product. The free embedded maps and SDKs are generous, and in the best case its per-business cost can beat ours. It's built for apps and it's good at that job.
Take a concrete job: 1,000 dentists with phone, website, rating, and hours.
Through the official API that data sits at the Enterprise tier: $35 per 1,000 Text Search requests, or 3.5 cents each, with up to 20 places per request.
Best case, every request comes back with 20 fresh businesses and the job costs $1.75. That beats our entry rate, and we'd rather tell you that than hide it.
Real pulls miss the best case. City coverage means overlapping queries, and duplicates bill full price.
Thin queries return 3 or 4 places and bill the same as full ones. Empties bill too. Then the storage terms say the list you just paid for can't be kept beyond place IDs.
CrustAPI's meter only moves when a business comes back. 1,000 dentists cost 1,000 credits, $1.96 at the entry pack, however many searches it took.
Empty searches cost nothing, every record arrives complete, and it's yours to store. One catch: a business returned by two of your searches bills each time, so tight queries still pay off.
| Places API (Text Search Enterprise) | CrustAPI Maps | |
|---|---|---|
| Billing unit | Per request, even for 0 results | Per business returned; empties free |
| Per 1,000 businesses | $1.75 best case, more with overlap and thin queries | $1.96 entry, down to $0.80 on the 2.5M pack |
| Results per query | 60 max, via 3 billed pages of 20 | Up to 100 in one request |
| Phone, website, hours, rating | Enterprise tier only | Included in every record |
| Storing the data | Place IDs only; lat/lng capped at 30 days | No storage limits |
| Free tier | 1,000 Enterprise calls / month per SKU | 3,000 credits / month, no card |
| Unused budget | Free calls reset monthly | Credits never expire |
One request, straight from the docs to a terminal. Here's the result as CSV first, then the same records as JSON. This pull came back in about a second:
Every record includes name, address, phone, website, rating, review count, categories, and hours. Maps records do not include email addresses (emails aren't on Google Maps). If you need verified emails on people, that comes from our LinkedIn API. And swapping type=maps for type=reviews pulls the actual Google reviews for any place in about 0.3 seconds.
Prepaid packs, self-serve. Credits never expire, so an unused pack waits for your next project. Every plan starts on top of 3,000 free credits a month with no card.
| Pack | Price | Per 1,000 businesses |
|---|---|---|
| Free every month | $0 | 3,000 credits, no card |
| 25,000 credits | $49 | $1.96 |
| 100,000 credits | $149 | $1.49 |
| 500,000 credits | $549 | $1.10 |
| 2,500,000 credits | $1,999 | $0.80 |
Packs continue up to 250 million credits for $100,000, which is $0.40 per 1,000. Prices ex-tax.
Maps bills 1 credit per business returned. Maps is one of 12 Google search types on the same key and the same credits, web search included. See the Google Search API for the SERP side, or try any of them in the playground first.
Create a free account. You get 3,000 credits a month, no card needed.
Type a search in the playground. Something like dentists in Denver, CO. The businesses land in a table.
Export the CSV or run the curl above. Same data, as JSON or rows for a sheet.

Every business in a region with hours, ratings, reviews and photos. Order from the datasets page, no sales call.
It depends on the SKU and the fields you request. Geocoding is $5 per 1,000 calls, Dynamic Maps is $7, Text Search runs $32 at the Pro tier and $35 at Enterprise, and Place Details runs $17 to $20. Rates step down above 100,000 calls a month. All figures checked against Google's pricing page on August 4, 2026.
Partly. The old $200 monthly credit was retired in March 2025. Each SKU now has its own free monthly call count: 10,000 for Essentials, 5,000 for Pro, and 1,000 for Enterprise. Embedded maps and the mobile SDKs stay free with no cap. Light in-app use can stay free; data pulls burn through 1,000 Enterprise calls fast.
Usually field tiers. Asking for phone, website, hours, or ratings moves the request to the Enterprise rate. Each page of results is also its own billed request, and a request that returns 1 result bills the same as one that returns 20.
One credit per business returned. $49 buys 25,000 credits ($1.96 per 1,000 businesses) and the $1,999 pack works out to $0.80 per 1,000. Searches that return nothing are free, credits never expire, and every record includes phone, website, rating, review count, categories, and hours.
Google's Maps service terms restrict caching or storing Places content beyond place IDs, and lat/lng can only be cached for 30 days. CrustAPI has no storage limits, so the lists you build are yours to keep and export.
No. Maps records include name, address, phone, website, rating, review count, categories, and hours. Emails aren't on Google Maps, so no maps product can sell them. If you need verified emails on people, our LinkedIn people endpoints return them.
